Believe it or not in all these years, I have never had a need to mess with SSL Certificates, so forgive me if this seems like a dumb question.
I am trying to detect of a certificate actually exists. I am using php. I can access a page on my clients site using both http and https. But I noticed that when I accessed it in Internet Explorer, the "padlock" didn't come on indicating that it was an actual secured page.
If I use echo $_SERVER['HTTPS']; it does return as "on".
So, how can I tell if the page really is secure or not? Do I need to do more than just access the page with https? And is there a way to even to tell what CA?
Thanks in advance,
Soren
