I don't have much experience with installing SSL either, but HAVE
experience with getting IE to play nicely with it.
Are you getting any kind of error message?
Does it look like the encryption is working in other browsers?
Usually the main culprit is something not loading securely on the page...
like images (if they are using a absolute link and has http in the address,
instead of https).
Hope that helps you a bit with troubleshooting what the problem is.
