This has been an enjoyable challenge that got me to work outside my comfort zone and combine 16 designs in 8 hoopings to create an Ivy Christmas runner that I will use with my Ivy place settings on Christmas. I never would have persevered through this without the contest to spur me on. Many problems with my software balking over this, but it all came out well in the end. I will treasure this for our family.
For my table runner, I used a combination of both the 4x4 and 5x7 Ivy sets which I have always loved. Then used "Delicate Heirloom Monograms" for the letter "G" placed within the outer ring of ivy. Some fun Christmas fabrics and edging were used for fun.
In the bell jar is my Christmas ornament. He/She is made totally of metallic threads in all those colors. The "flower" is gold mesh drawn up into a flower with green silk leaves. The copper wire was turned over various sewing spools and the curly Q over the flower is kind of a nod to the trumpet flowers that hummingbirds seem to favor.
Many thanks to all the moderators and the HIA and AS ladies for giving us this wonderful challenge!
