Finally put my entry in for the Summer tote contest (pics awaiting approval), inspired by all of you and by the bag Gwenyth Davis made (thanks Gwenyth for all of your help with the pattern!) I used Mellie and me pattern Raspberry Ripple which I ordered after seeing Gwenyth's bag. Fabric is all cotton and the embroidery designs are the Daisy design from Apricot Blush. Bling is Swarovski crystals on the flowers. I altered the pattern and made it longer to accommodate the designs, added a cell phone pocket on the end and extra pockets inside. Because I added embroidery on the top bands, I had to change the handles so that they did not cover up the designs. Got lots of ideas to change the design if future attempts, including some quilting on the embroidered panels. Love that HIA is having contests like this as it encourages me to start and finish a project. Thanks and congratulations to all of you for your beautiful bags!! Excellent job, all!
