I was to Alaska in May about 10 years ago. Like Dawn said we cruised at
night and in port during the day. UI was disappointed because you did not
see any coast lines or views in May as i9t was dark.
Most of the ports were cloudy and gray sometimes it rained. In May we could
not get close to the glacier as there was too much floating ice. This is
only my experience

We took the Alaska Cruise at the beginning of July, and the Bering Sea was still frozen over!!!! It was cold, but very sunny. But it was not bitter cold. I would not suggest the May date as, like the Lady says, it is still partially dark around the clock, and it is a bitter cold at that time.
The cruise we took was wonderful with a lot of land excursions. You have not seen beautiful Country until you see Alaska. The wildlife alone is worth the trip!!!
If medically possible at that time, since I still have to undergo some serious surgery after the Conference, I may join you. Would love to take that trip again!
If you can go, GO!!! And what better company on the trip????
