Hello, all!
A few months ago I started building a prototype that demonstrates a new approach to online sales. I later modified the main demo to a simpler version, suitable for pre-ordering from online menus.
My system is similar in a way to the sandwich ordering system at Sheetz gas stations. What bothers me about the Sheetz system is the sheer number of screens one must navigate through just to order a sandwich.
As I have developed my prototypes, I have come to realize that almost all websites have a built-in assumption. As example, there is a local produce wholesaler. I would really like to see how they handle online sales - but I have to have an account before I can see anything at all.
This creates a silly barrier to new sales - requiring the potential customer to fully set up an account before they can see any product. Far better to show one's wares first.
Best,
Bill Suboski
