[HatchedDesignForum] Christmas Tree Skirt and Ornaments Entry

 

Hi, I just uploaded photos of my Christmas tree skirt and ornaments for the "Tis the Season" challenge. We only needed one ornament for this challenge but I just couldn't stop at one…LOL.

For my Christmas tree skirt…I used 2 designs from HIA Christmas Florals Set 1 4x4…Xmsbauble and Xmsbells. I also used 2 designs from HIA Christmas Florals Set 2 4x4…Xsflrs2006 and Xsflrs2018. There are 24 designs in all on my skirt and I embellished the larger designs with crystals. I used red and green fabrics with gold specks and gold Lame to construct the skirt. I also did some in-the-ditch quilting as well as some straight line quilting. I finished it off with a hand crochet edging that I made especially for this project. It's 40" in diameter.

For my ornaments…I used French06acdoily from the Daisy Lace Doily 3 set of designs at AS. I stitched out two doilies for each ornament. I dried the doilies on a sphere to get a rounded shaped doily and then glued two together. I embellished each ornament with approximately 60 crystals, a satin bow and a tassel. There are also crystals on the tassel. I made 12 ornaments.

Sewing for the holidays is one of my most favorite things to do. I was thrilled to work on these projects for this challenge. I can hardly wait to put up my tree this year.
