I have towels to do for my in-laws and family for Christmas too. I just took a free embroidery class at a local shop that taught me how to embroider on towels using the wash away stabalizer and the No-Hoop method... It was fantastic... makes embroidering towels so much easier. Let me know if you want the specifics and I will get my class notes out and write down the steps and the stuff you need.
