I keep all of my CD in platic drawers that I purchased several years ago,
(now running out of space there) but when I buy a CD or any set of designs,
I immediately transfer my format to my hard drive under "C" Embroidery
Collection/Designers/"designer name, HIA) and create a folder with the
collectionname, also transfer any color charts or PDF files to this folder,
then file the cd in a drawer for that designer. At the same time I cross
reference the designs in my Misc. folders, such as
Flowers/Birds/Lace/holiday, etc. If I had to hunt thru all my CDs I would
never get any sewing done. And sometimes I can't remember who the designer
was, but if I know it was a flower or bird
I can go there and quickly check
thru those files. And when I buy a lot of designs from a specific designer,
like Santi, under flowers, etc. I have a folder there marked HIA.
May sound like a lot of work, but once set up it is easy to control and keep
my designs organized, and I have Buzz Explore to read all of my files,
zipped or not.
