A note from a Newbie :)
Hi - I'm Anne. I live in Middle Georgia, retired from DoD 4 years ago, and love to sew & embroider! I've always sewn, my mom started teaching me by letting me watch when I was quite young & then letting me start stitching around 9. As a retirement gift to myself I bought an embroidery machine, a Futura 200 which was replaced with the 250 & I also have a 100 for a backup machine. I wish I had known someone that embroidered by machine that would have told me to go with the biggest hoop size I could afford at that time!
I started making weighted blankets for children on the Autism Spectrum shortly after I retired. The one request turned into many & I now make several different items & add as customers make requests. I add embroidery to almost every item to make it special. (
I recently separated from my husband after almost 36 years of marriage. He decided he wanted more out of life (a girlfriend) so I ended up leaving. People always say good things usually come from sad or difficult times...I'm still waiting but I did end up with a much nicer sewing room :).
