Hi...Kimberley here...the reason that I turn off the cutting blade is so that no more fabric is trimmed off of the streamer. When I do this with my serger, my streamer stays nice and flat. You can use the rolled egde if you like...your streamer will be a little more narrow if you do. This is not a big deal. I'm sure your streamers will be just fine. There is nor right or wrong here. Just play and have fun with it...Kimberley in PA

Is there a reason for this? I turned my blade off but then my sides sort of roll when serging them rather than staying flat. I do have a rolled edge on my serger would that be better to do or just leave the blade on and serge the sides flat?
