[HatchedDesignForum] Amazing People at WalMart

I was at work the other day and I had a serviceman in uniform in my line.
I rang up his order, about $180 in groceries for his family and he ran his
debit card. Before I was able to hit the button that would have finalized
the order a woman handed me $50 towards his order. I thought they were
together so I entered the cash payment and had him run his debit card again.
She started to walk away but before she left she thanked the serviceman
for his service. It dawned on me at that moment that they weren't together!
He slid his card in the terminal again and I looked at her and said, "he
doesn't understand yet." He was lost in our conversation as the woman
walked away. He looked at me and asked me,without words, what had just
happened. I looked at him and said, "you still don't get it yet do you :) " He
looked at the total on his side of the screen and he couldn't believe what
she had done! It was an awesome site to see!

I saw her again yesterday in my line and told her about how the serviceman
reacted when he finally understood that she had helped him with his
groceries! Why am I posting this on this list? Because when she came back in
she had a Hatched in Africa design on her shirt! Just goes to show the heart
of our little community! I gave her the address to join the list and I
hope she's done it and can read this note.

Life for me is an ever changing and evolving event now. Dexter is
growing, he's actually huge already and he's only 7 months old! He reminds me of
Marmaduke in the cartoon section of the newspaper in his antics. He's not
been eating well lately and I was getting concerned about him until I saw
him eating seed pods from the sycamore tree! Go figure!

Kelly, my "honey" just resigned from his job and has joined me here in SC.
Keep in mind that this has always been a long distance relationship so
it's going to get interesting to see what direction this is going to go.
We've had conversations about having to work together and get used to living
with someone else in our lives again. I'm hoping for the best.

I am starting a project for one of our managers who just had a baby. Too
bad it's a boy, I would have loved to do a Fairyland quilt but I think I'll
go with the Cuddlesome Critters designs. I've always loved them but I've
only had time (ah, motivation???) to use them. Life has been interesting
in the last few years to say the least :)

I'm going to go back through our photo album and see how these designs have
been used in the past. I need some layout ideas for the crib sized
quilt! Oh, Kimberley, Kelly has moved some of his stuff into the sewing room
until we can get it settled in somewhere else. I really haven't gone in
there to look at it yet so I just don't know if I can get to my machine just
yet.

Speaking of Kimberley, she's been very quiet lately. I probably should
give her a call and see what she's been up to these days :)

You all have a great weekend and those who are looking at this storm, be
careful, we want you around for a very long time to come!
