In 1969 my dh husband ended up in the hospital for 2months included christmas. My father in law brought him home for christmas day. We were broke and beyond i had gone to work for 1.47 an hour at Woolworth'sp. We had a 6 year old and three year old.
When my husband came in the house he asked what was in the bags on the front step.
I found out later that the kindergarten teacher had left gifts for the kids.
How nice of her and i will never forget.
