I have just added some photos to the Cutwork Designs album of my granddaughter's First Communion dress. Jessica (JJ) wanted a dress that she could wear for other special occasions, so not the traditional First Communion bride-like dress.
The top and sleeves have cathedral windows with pintucks on each side of the windows. There is a tiny white flower on purple Kona cotton in each window that comes from the decorative stitches on my sewing machine. There is a border all around the bottom of the dress of Elegant Cutwork butterflies, flowers, hearts, and scrolls. The embroidery is white on white cotton sateen. Behind the cutwork is a strip of purple Kona cotton. A lace trim covers the insertion seams above and below the border and the same lace trim covers the dropped waist seam.
JJ looked just beautiful in her dress with a matching headband. She also received many compliments on her dress, even from the priest who officiated at the ceremony.
Thanks to Hatched, the cutwork came out just beautiful and stitched without a problem.
