[HatchedDesignForum] my contest entry

 

YEA, I was able to get my contest entry done as we didn't have to watch our grandsons for the past couple of days. Right now I'm just waiting for the pics to be approved.

Due to time constraints I decided to just use a placemat for the body of the purse. I have done this before, but this time the placemat was made out of a suede type fabric and wow, did I ever have a devil of a time getting the side seams sewn together! Originally I was going to add a lining out of a gold batik, but it was just too thick so wouldn't lay flat.

I used 3 designs from the Velvet Birds set, plus I added one individual flower that is actually part of the larger design. These were a lot of fun to stitch out and I plan on using some on sweatshirts this fall.
