Have question for you on the Bernina 730. if it reads exp files, I am
assuming all I have to do is to make sure they are unzipped and loaded to
the usb stick and I can use them directly on the machine without the
software. Hopefully I am correct in this assumption.

Subject: Re: [HatchedDesignForum] Re: Formats for Bernina
Actually the only machine that can read an .ART file is the Artista 200/730
machine. It reads both .ART V4 and .EXP. The older machines, 165 thru 185
actually read EXP. The .ART cards we purchased were really EXP files. When
we downloaded files from the internet in ART format, we used our software to
send to the machine or to our Personal Design Card. The software converted
these ART formats to EXP automatically. The 8 Series and I believe the new 7
Series reads both .EXP and .DST. We purchase designs in .ART format and use
our software to send to the machine/USB stick of our choice and the software
automatically does the conversions needed for that machine.
I stand by my statement that all Bernina embroidery machines read .EXP. If
available, I always purchase in .ART format and let my software do the
thinking for me.
Yes HIA provides ART format. It was mistakenly left out of the latest free
download.
